National Press Club highest calibre presentations possible with Codan Broadcast

The National Press Club, NPC, in Washington DC, is an icon of the U.S.A. media industry and provides the forum for discussions about the most important day-to-day issues facing America. The presenters at the NPC are political, social and business figures of the highest calibre.

The NPC broadcasts must do justice to both the calibre of the presenters and the importance of the issues being discussed. There is an expectation that the broadcasting system used by NPC will do its job flawlessly on every occasion.

Consequently, NPC chooses to rely upon the full range of Codan Broadcast products to operate its system. The routing switchers, control panels and GUI were all supplied by Codan Broadcast. At the heart of the system are Codan Broadcast's NK Series routers. The Phoenix Control Surface is used to control each of them. This easy to use software allows NPC to quickly make changes on a regular basis.

When NPC's current Chief Engineer, David Schrader, arrived at NPC 2 years ago he was pleased to find this equipment already installed in NPC's new facility. Based on his previous experience, he knew immediately that both the products and the company support would be of the highest quality. Since then, he has not been disappointed. Codan Broadcast has continued to provide NPC with the same outstanding services. "Support is one of my biggest concerns when dealing with equipment vendors," said David Schrader. "We have had a few times when we have had to call for technical support and each time we did it we received help immediately and our problem has been solved over the phone. In one case when a replacement was needed we received it the very next day. I would rate the service and support as excellent."

Nowadays, NPC is growing rapidly and has plans to install another control room in the near future. In addition, they are continually adding to and adapting the system they are currently using. “We often modify our system sometimes only by moving control panels, changing how they are programmed or adding destinations. With Codan Broadcast’s products these changes are very easy and we can achieve the desired outcome”, added NPC's Chief Engineer. The flexibility of Codan Broadcast’s products means that NPC will be able to continue to use Codan Broadcast for the full range of broadcasting needs. In the future, as NPC continues to grow in size and importance in the media industry, Codan Broadcast will be with them every step of the way, providing top of the range broadcasting equipment and professional support.
