NK-VRC — Virtual Routing Core (V-Core)
NK Series Virtual Routing Core

V-Core
Manual Service Bulletins Firmware FAQs

The NK Series V-Core offers a virtual routing solution to any NK routing system. The V-Core also offers up to 4000 virtual labels to be entered for the routing system, making it ideal for environments where resources may be added in the future. Inputs and outputs may be assigned 2,000 virtual labels each.

The V-Core operates by converting virtual switch requests (from control panels) to actual switch requests, and then sends the actual requests to the connected routers. When the switch is activated, the V-Core converts the switch completion message from actual data to virtual data, returning that data to the connected control panels. Connected control panels must be configured for virtual routing, this communication ensures that only routers respond to and transmit actual messages, and panels only respond to and transmit virtual messages.

The V-Core suits applications where sources and destinations need to be reallocated on the fly, or where a temporary reconfiguration of the router is desired.
