AEM-106N
AES To Stereo Monitoring Distribution Amplifier

Manual Service Bulletins Firmware FAQs

The Provideo AEM-106N series eurocard AES digital audio to stereo distribution amplifier provides a broadcast quality solution to the distribution and monitoring of AES digital audio signals.

The AEM-106N has both unbalanced 75Ω or balanced 110Ω AES digital audio inputs. Automatic cable compensation for up to 200 metres of balanced 110Ω cable and 900 metres of high quality coaxial cable can be accommodated on the AEM-106N.

The AEM-106N features AES digital input and output isolation.  A 10 Mb/s isolating/coupling transformer ensures excellent input-to-output and output-to-output isolation.  Input and output voltage isolation is 500 V DC.

Four AES digital outputs and three stereo balanced analogue audio outputs are derived from one AES input.  Two stereo outputs are located on the rear panel and one on the front panel.  The nominal output level is set to 0 dBu.  From this nominal level, front panel gain controls enable each channel’s gain to be increased or decreased by 6 dB.

Full 18 bit broadcast stereo digital to analogue converters are used offering excellent signal to noise, extremely low clock jitter and zero phase error between channels.  Two different versions of AES output rear connectors are available; four balanced  110Ω AES outputs using Phoenix 3-pin connectors on the PHX version and four unbalanced 75Ω outputs on the BNC version.  Front panel balanced stereo outputs enable convenient monitoring via industry standard 6.5 mm stereo or Bantam sockets.
