The PV Series MDD-104N-AES  (formerly HMD-104N) eurocard HD/SD serial digital distribution amplifier provides a broadcast quality solution to the distribution and monitoring of 1.485 Gb/s HDTV signals.

The HMD-104N is a reclocking distribution amplifier that supports 1.485 Gb/s signals.  The HMD-104N reclocks and regenerates the serial data removing accumulated jitter that may be present at the serial input.

Automatic cable equalisation is provided, and typically up to 80 metres of high quality cable at 1.485 Gb/s can be equalised.  After cable equalisation the serial data is reclocked and fed to precision cable drivers.

The HMD-104N provides four down-converted serial digital 270 Mb/s monitoring outputs from the HDTV digital input.  Three outputs are to the rear connector assembly and one to the front PCB.

One group of the HD embedded digital audio can be re-embedded into the down-converted SD output.  This option is available on the HMD-104N-AES model.  Both AES and Dolby-E™ digital audio can be re-embedded.

Four 1.485 Gb/s outputs are provided on the HMD-104N from one input.

The HMD-104N is controlled via a menu.  Menu selection is via a rotary mode switch, and selection within any selected mode is achieved using a toggle switch.  Aspect ratio modes and colour bar selection are selectable via the menu.
